By DAVID PRESCOTT, LICSW, Past President of Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA); Clinical Director, Becket Program—Maine; Former Clinical Director, Minnesota Sex Offender Program; Former Treatment Assessment Director, Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center—Wisconsin

A propos du déni et des difficultés/dilemnes/possibilités de traitement des AICS

Abstract: How is it that this issue arouses such strong emotion among professionals? Is denial a risk factor or not? Can we treatment people in denial? And more difficult still, should we? For that matter, how did denial come to be such a hotly debated topic? What message does our field send by treating deniers? How does this help or harm those affected by sexual abuse? This panel discussion, facilitated by David Prescott, will examine the controversies and make recommendations. Caution: The controversies in this topic are virtually guaranteed well into the future.
